First meeting with the users in Thessaloniki
The first meeting with the users of DiAS took place in Thessaloniki, on Thursday 21st March 2019. The meeting aimed to gather the experience of rural payment agencies and identify difficulties and gaps in the current operations. DiAS team explained the objectives of the project and proposed innovative ways to involve Sentinel data in applications like crop mapping and disaster impacts assessment in agriculture, with a focus on Greece. DiAS team discussed together with the representatives of the public sector, the requirements and challenges in integrating Sentinel data in the control procedures, so to facilitate remote sensing and/or in-situ operations.
A second meeting with the users of DiAS is scheduled to be held at the end of the project.
